taxman   12 #1 Posted June 9, 2017 The Italian Express takeaway on South Road Walkley has expanded into next doors premises and is opening a restaurant.  Hopefully it will add to the increasingly good vibe in Walkley.
 Share this content via...
BurtBackcrak   10 #2 Posted July 16, 2017 We went to Leo's Italian Express last night. Everything was great, our seared scallop starter was excellent with a hint of smokiness, the asparagus risotto was rich and the pizza was the real thing. Friendly service, nice decor, nice vibe, a great addition to the new Walkley!
 Share this content via...

Bilge   34 #4 Posted July 17, 2017 ...the new Walkley!  Is that like 'New Labour'? The inference being that the Old Walkley was no good. Is there a group of spin doctors promoting Walkley now?
 Share this content via...
achorste   10 #5 Posted July 17, 2017 Is that like 'New Labour'? The inference being that the Old Walkley was no good. Is there a group of spin doctors promoting Walkley now?  To be fair, Walkley has changed dramatically for the better even in the last 6 years since I moved down the hill from Crookes. I think "New" Walkely is quite fair.  (Although you are making the inference that 'new' Walkley means that 'old' Walkley was worse, not the poster - new means it's different, not necessarily better. I much prefer it, but there's some I'm sure that liked it run down and dingy)
 Share this content via...

There was very little there last time round of note.
 Share this content via...

bluecanary   13 #11 Posted July 3, 2019 Not so fond of the pizza, but the pasta is fantastic.
 Share this content via...

I had a pizza several weeks ago from there, and it was pretty bad (nothing like anything an Italian would ever cook in my opinion, more like an American fast food pizza). This is a shame, because several years ago I recall the pizza's were rather good and a lot more Italian. Good to hear the pasta might still be good then!
