Sgt.Pepper album 50th anniversary mix?

Recommended Posts

Have any other fans (not haters, please) heard this version, released by Giles Martin, son of legendary producer George, on the 50th anniversary of the album's release.

It's basically the same, but for slight mixing variations which really bring out the vocals and some backing instruments, enhancing the original masters, for me. ;)

although I'm I big beatles fan I thought revolver and rubber soul were better albums, the production on the new version is indeed a lot better I have been playing it for a couple of weeks.

Although Sgt.Pepper is a really great album, with a very good design on the front cover, my favourites are Rubber Soul, Beatles For Sale and The White Album.

There's an interesting theory that the basic concept idea for that album actually came from Mal Evans after he and Paul went on a trip together to America, and that he even contributed lots in the way of writing on some of the tracks.

Mal Evans was supposedly going to tell all in a book he was planning to release before he was shot dead by the LAPD because they mistakenly thought he was high on drugs and pointing a gun at them. :suspect:

I doubt that either were considered for Sgt.Pepper? All you need is love was written for the Beatles contribution to the world's live broadcast watched by 200million.

It's all too much was finally used for the Yellow Sub film soundtrack.

I agree but to me they fit OK. The two that should have been on it were Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane
