dars35 Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 I'm a bit surprised reading through this discussion (and with references to some of the material already produced in Sheffield) that no one has yet mentioned Four Lions, and even more significantly Warp Films, based in Sheffield & London, with an existing track record of links with Film4/Channel4
choogling Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Prisoner’s Wives, that’s the one (It’s both of them actually, I somehow thought the two leading ladies were starring in two different shows) Oh, and an episode of Top Gear was filmed here, the one with the three-wheeled Robin Reliants the robin was a model made by reliant so it is a reliant robin, not a robin reliant its like saying an escort ford.
dutch Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 getting closer to the final decision today. Toby mentioned few things about it this morning. Just look at the stupidity of it, government owns a big part of channel 4 and tells it to relocate to create 300 jobs outside London, then cancels railway electrification. It is a ping pong effort to stay in the game. How much would property values increase if channel 4 decides to come here?
Guest busdriver1 Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 How much would property values increase if channel 4 decides to come here? Probably not at all. 300 jobs is a very small number. Some would re-locate yes, but some would be new recruits from the area or beyond.
iansheff Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 Didn't expect Sheffield to get it. Leeds has made it to the shortlist of places where Channel 4 could move its national HQ, it's been announced. Meanwhile, Sheffield has been shortlisted as a possible Creative hub

Meanwhile, Sheffield has been shortlisted as a possible Creative hub Sheffield is competing against Belfast, Brighton, Newcastle-Gateshead, Nottingham and Stoke-on-Trent to be the location of a 'creative hub'. I'm not sure if there will be more than one?
Dan_Ashcroft Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 It's pretty obvious you can't locate something like that somewhere where there's no airport and HS2 will be bypassing. You need a transport infrastructure for staff and guess to be able to get in and out quickly
