The Joker Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Prisoners Wives ? This is England ? On a different note I hope that mock up photo in The Star with the headquarters next to the train station dosent happen , it looks horrendous Prisoner’s Wives, that’s the one (It’s both of them actually, I somehow thought the two leading ladies were starring in two different shows) Oh, and an episode of Top Gear was filmed here, the one with the three-wheeled Robin Reliants
Guest makapaka Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 I know for a fact there are loads more in Manchester, a fair few in Birmingham and many many times more, obviously, in that there London. All of the above have better transport links. I'm not saying Sheffield can't do a good job, it's just birmingham and Manchester would do it better. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it if Sheffield got it - I'd get more work out of it. But your making the point for here. London would do it better. But we have enough here to make it work and it being here would help that improve even more. The attitude that only those currently “capable” should have it is surely partly why they’re relocating? On another note - the overall pitch by sheffield seems a bit flat - we should be all over this.

Mister M Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 How much would it cost Sheffield taxpayers , to have this here ? I wouldn't have thought it would cost us anything....except the land that CH4 would use for the new building. Though we'd reap the rewards of having a prestigious company in Sheffield.
Guest makapaka Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 How much would it cost Sheffield taxpayers , to have this here ? Why would it cost the taxpayer? Imagine the economic benefits.

Technical expertise etc on tap established suppliers etc or a bit land next to mainline station. If its the latter, yeah Sheffield could do it. But so could a dozen other locations.

Yes we do - absolutely.
tinfoilhat Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Yes we do - absolutely. Ok, how and why should Sheffield be at the top of the list over and above the other potential sites? What are C4 criteria ? What do you think they should be?

darylslinn Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Having just realised who is heading up Sheffield's bid the penny has dropped. Isn't our much beloved Richard Caborn linked with Kevin McCabe who's Scarborough Group own the land where the C4 HQ would be built or am I imagining things. If McCabe wants something then he gets Caborn to front it - Olympic Legacy Park and the Sheffield Eagles debacle anyone ?
