bassett one Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 a disgrace should be free in the city centre to entice shoppers.

truman Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 a disgrace should be free in the city centre to entice shoppers. All that would happen is the people who work in town would fill the spaces...
Cyclone Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 And people wonder why shoppers go to meadowhell and not town ? Why do people insist that a very small parking charge is enough to have them drive an extra 25 minutes to park for free?
truman Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Why do people insist that a very small parking charge is enough to have them drive an extra 25 minutes to park for free? Depends where you're starting from as to whether it's 25 mins more or 25 mins less....
Cyclone Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 "No changes will be made to charges in the city centre or parks." Don't expect facts to stop people ranting about city centre parking! ---------- Post added 02-06-2017 at 11:21 ---------- Depends where you're starting from as to whether it's 25 mins more or 25 mins less.... True, but if it were closer in the first place then it's not the parking that is attracting people.
max Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 If parking in the city centre, which this rise doesn't affect, is so expensive then why aren't there many empty spaces?
tinfoilhat Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 a disgrace should be free in the city centre to entice shoppers. So saving a few quid on parking will make you go somewhere else?
Berberis Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/sheffield-council-set-to-relaunch-parking-charge-hike-after-previous-u-turn-1-8573235 Everyones looking the other way towards the general election  I called it when they put in the hunters bar parking tickets. "Its only 20p" was many people's response. ---------- Post added 02-06-2017 at 12:44 ---------- If parking in the city centre, which this rise doesn't affect, is so expensive then why aren't there many empty spaces? Because there is already insufficient parking provision for the people who want to shop in town and those who also work there.
Guest Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 All that would happen is the people who work in town would fill the spaces... Make it a maximum stay of say, two hours then.
