Jon26 Â Â 10 #25 Posted May 12, 2017 Preferably in North Sheffield (Chapeltown area). It is for a trapped nerve in my neck/shoulder. I have seen my GP and been referred, but I'll have to wait 4-6 weeks on the NHS. I have Westfield cover, so can anyone recommend a private physio? The pain is irritating me already after just 2.5 weeks, and it's a recurring problem. Â Opposite end of the city but I've used Jenny at Meadowhead Physio many times over the years. She typically quickly helps to ease the pain. Hope you soon feel better, trapped nerves are very painful.
 Share this content via...
pooley91 Â Â 10 #26 Posted May 12, 2017 Check out The Physios next to Hallamshire Hospital - I saw Kathryn when I had back problems last year and would highly recommend them.
 Share this content via...
russ74 Â Â 10 #27 Posted May 12, 2017 Burns chiropractic on Ecclesall Road. He would have this sorted in a jiffy he is excellent. If trapped nerve then a mix of physio and chiro would sort that out.
 Share this content via...
panzer1   10 #28 Posted May 12, 2017 Hills physio based above KFC at chapeltown, mobile number 07958449994. Highly qualified and is a consultant at Rotherham hospital, wife suffered for months and he sorted her in 5 sessions at £40 per session, worth every penny.  ---------- Post added 12-05-2017 at 19:16 ----------  GP told wife she would need gold injections in her shoulder, extreme pain but he sorted it and she felt the benefit from first appointment. Isabelle   10 #30 Posted May 12, 2017 Thanks for the suggestions. I just waiting for my referral letter to come through then I can book in. The pain is worse when I lay down, which makes it harder to sleep, and getting dressed in the morning is interesting.
 Share this content via...

DerbyTup   10 #33 Posted June 26, 2017 (edited) Thanks for the suggestions. I just waiting for my referral letter to come through then I can book in. You can book an appointment and be seen within 24 hours in some cases.  How does one tell a good physio from another? I've no idea tbh. At the end of the day they should all be qualified but some may specialise in certain body parts. You're really looking for a head and neck physio I suppose? Most physio practices will have generalists who do everything, some may have those who specialise in head and neck.  May be worth phoning around a few and see if they have someone with this specialism?  I had physio for a lower back problem many years ago now. I was recommended a guy called Paul Hattam - his practice was/still is at Broomhill. Nice guy, very, very good with lower back pain. He had a largish practice with other physio's there.  More recently I had physio for a calf-tear - on this occasion I went to the White House physio clinic at Lodge Moor. Also very good.  I'm sure there are dozens to choose from. I'd just pick a few large practices (because you are more likely to find a head and neck specialist in a large practice) and phone up and ask if they have someone who specialises in head and neck, ask about the availability and the price of course!  I would steer clear of chiropracters for this personally. I'd try physio first. I think neck pain would be better addressed by physio than forceful manipulation. ordinaryman   10 #34 Posted July 23, 2017 Hi,  My son has a cerebral palsy and he must have daily physiotherapy exercises. My wife and I find it difficult to do such exercises every day. Therefore, we decided to look for a private physiotherapist here in Sheffield who can help us with our son's case.  Can you please recommend any private physiotherapist based on your experience or someone's experience?  Your help is appreciated.
