midowl   10 #2 Posted May 11, 2017 Memories of forty years or so ago - when they transferred the business- Vaus`s fishcakes opposite Wadsley Church, Worrall Road...unbeatable..I`ve found no other chippy in the country to compare with those fishcakes - and they were the real ones - not scallops. smary   14 #4 Posted May 11, 2017 Harlequin on Howard Street, we always visited when we came up from Cornwall. Even though we live by the sea these fish and chips were much better.
 Share this content via...

Jim Hardie   523 #9 Posted May 11, 2017 (edited) There used to be a really good one on London Road. Was it called Phillips? Edit. No, it was Dixons. Confusing it with the excellent pork shop in Heeley.  ---------- Post added 11-05-2017 at 20:43 ----------  Poseidon on Abbey Lane. Nearly as good as going to Whitby for the real deal.  You're on the wrong thread mate. That one is extant. sedith   19 #10 Posted May 11, 2017 Dixons at Greenhill were very good when I was living there in the 60's. There are some good chip shops still in Sheffield, but the best one in my opinion, which has been there years is on Whittington Moor opposite the Lidl down a little side street, is it 'Margarets' Chip Shop.
