hauxwell   235 #121 Posted August 29, 2017 I wonder if Kim Jong Um is becoming a desperate man because of the imposed sanctions. Perhaps he feels there will be a rebellion in his country and the missiles could be a diversion and if that is the case he must be desperate, which can't be good for his mental state. Although I'm not sure if the sanctions have made a difference. Would be nice to know.
 Share this content via...
maidinsheff   10 #122 Posted August 29, 2017 (edited) My dad survived the bomb that was dropped on Nagasaki. If he were alive today he wouldn't be wetting his pants. He'd see if for what it is: two truculent twerps squaring off at one another. NK has its own version of the world and probably doesn't realise how quickly it would be quashed.  Still, the Americans could name their next bomb 'FART BOY'. GLASGOWOODS   10 #123 Posted August 29, 2017 This is grim stuff. What is wrong with Kim Jong whatsit? Does he seriously think he's going to take down the USA? He is putting his country at massive risk and for what? I thought this sort of lunacy had vanished years since.  He's just become a dad again, so maybe he doesn't seem too keen on an increase in his child maintenance payments. True. A dictator remains in power only for so long as the populus is effectively silenced.
 Share this content via...
Cyclone   10 #132 Posted August 31, 2017 True. A dictator remains in power only for so long as the populus is effectively silenced.  Or only so long as the army stands with him, given that the populace is unarmed, ill educated, has little knowledge of anything other than NK and the lies they are told, and in many cases underfed.
