Passed Parson Cross pub yesterday all boaded up, another dive.

 

Its been boarded up ages, guy that owns it runs a car wash unit from it!

Two generations of my family drank at the Tavern. It holds so many happy memories as a kid, standing outside waiting for my mam,dad and uncle to come out. Unfortunatelymy uncle was knocked down outside the Tavern.

 

Also taking back the glass bottle pop bottles to get some money back to buy sweets. HAPPY DAYS.

I have it on good authority that it's reopening as a pub.

I thought maybe my suggest to check the plans on the councils website would have helped.

Was having a conversation with my Dad who had heard that it was going to be a pub on one side and a nursery on the other.

 

I said if it was nobody had submitted plans for this and that the last plans were for a house. Even after showing him the above links he wasn't convinced.

 

Not sure if it's a weird Sheffield thing or happens everywhere but if you show someone proof of something they don't believe you because their brother's mate's wife's friend's son's mate's Dad said something different.

Well with the new fencing making it look like a prison,the clientele should feel right at home.

Im talking back in the late 70s it was a proper local in its day.
