Accident on Manchester Road 09/03/2017

I've been informed there has been an accident on Manchester Road and 51 bus service is affected. The route is extremely busy at the moment.

A57. No buses serving Xpool for the past hour or more. I heard a schoolchild was knocked down by a coach near Broomhill around 4pm & air ambulance attended.

Hoping and praying that the girl will be ok.

The coach was cordoned off where the bus stop is. I guessed that someone had been knocked over as there was no evidence of another vehicle being involved. The coach had only just turned to go up the hill and couldn't have been travelling that fast.

According to the Star a 12 year old girl suffered a broken leg and minor head injuries after being hit by a coach.

 

She was flown to the children's hospital - hopefully it doesn't sound too serious.

 

What I can't work out is - she was flown? It's literally half a mile away?
