Why are Leeds disliked by other football clubs?

Recommended Posts

We met a family from Leeds on holiday a couple of years ago and all were Leeds fans

All were very well behaved and didn't behave like thugs

Both husband and wife worked in the NHS and both the boys (teens) had very good manners and never once tried to smash up any of the local bars while they were on holiday

;)Think they are the only family who are allowed out of Leeds and that only after years of therapy.

Leeds is different. People are colder and don't seem to have a great sense of humour. Maybe because it has a big service/financial sector. Sheffield city of makers...more creative?

Great book (and film) about Brian Clough's 44 days as Leeds Utd manager - called Damned United. Work of genius by David Peace.

And of course the Great Alan Bennet comes from Leeds - but soon got out.

If you've ever been to an away game at Leeds there is a noticeably more hostile atmosphere to most other clubs.

The stewards are on a par with Wednesday for being obnoxious, hostile, and threatening.

In

it appears FC United of Manchester are a bit half hearted and in Cardiff it's just one bloke. But still, the sentiment is the same.

BTW the Man U original goes on for about 11 minutes throughout halftime.

Under revie in 70s, they were the first team to try and intimidate the referee. They could all dish it out with bremner and hunter the main culprits.first to use the keep ball tactics(multiple passes getting nowhere) taking the mick out of the opposition, finally the naff miniature numbered flags on there socks:roll: cant abide em.

Do you mean they played dirty?

Fowling opponents constantly

When will they be forgiven if it goes back to the 1970s?

Bit like Scunthorpe did Saturday but worse.

They didn't need to play dirty, the Blades were hardly on stunning form that day.

But surely if this goes back to Don Revie this is surely in the past

The current players (Wood, Duckari etc....) weren't in the squad back in the 1970s

The question was; 'Why are Leeds disliked... ?' and it was answered!
