Tezden   10 #1 Posted February 1, 2017 I'm wanting to update some Geograph information about an old house on Skew Hill in Grenoside ... and have been told that a Frank Goddard lived there with his wife, and was a Coalman. Does anybody have any memories or history of Frank Goddard ?
 Share this content via...
gene   10 #2 Posted February 1, 2017 I asked a friend who has lived at Grenoside since she was born - here is her answer.  I can remember in the 1940s/very early 1950s our coal was delivered by a Mr Goddard, who lived in the Skew Hill area, somewhere near the Cow and Calf, but I don’t really remember the houses in that area – a vague image of a detached house, not a large one. I can’t remember Mr Goddard at all, just vague images of men black with coal dust tipping the sacks into the coal house. IN 1911 Frank Goddard aged 39 coalman and family lived at Nether Houses.
