kckc   10 #2 Posted January 9, 2017 I took in a starving ring-necked dove in winter that couldn't fly and handed it to the RSPCA to look after the next day. They might help, or contact the RSPB for advice.
 Share this content via...

Owethemnowt   10 #6 Posted January 9, 2017 Put it in a card board box. Darkness will imediately calm the bird.  If no one will help, put the box in a shed or garage and release the bird into that area. Make sure the box has 'beddding' but the bird will most likely perch somewhere.  Leave food and water.  If the food is scattered around then the bird has been feeding.  When you think it is recovered release it.  Don't be surprised to see it appearing on your roof for some time afterwards. It's their way of saying thanks.
 Share this content via...

Owethemnowt   10 #8 Posted January 9, 2017 Sorry I posted too late but that's my experience with Vets; they can't be bothered yet are fine to your face.  When you leave they simply kill it ...... whatever it happens to be.
 Share this content via...
