mikep57 10 #1 Posted January 9, 2017 Fed up with paying £40 a time consultation fee when I go to the vet for painkiller for an old cat with arthritis. Can anyone suggest a suitable medication I can buy at the chemist?
 Share this content via...
Glennis 15 #2 Posted January 9, 2017 You can get a prescription from your vet, and buy the medication on-line, which saves a lot of money and you cat will get the correct medicine. http://www.petprescription.co.uk/?gclid=CKO9p-adtdECFUaNGwodYOwBeg I used to do this for our old dog. I don't think the vets can refuse
 Share this content via...
berlingo 10 #3 Posted January 9, 2017 Why do you need to be seen every time? it's normally 6 monthly check up?
 Share this content via...
spats 10 #4 Posted January 10, 2017 I use Peak Vets. My cat has to be seen by the vet every 6 months ( which is classed as a paid consultation) but then I can order his heart meds at any time. Even if you order via the internet, I think you still need to have a valid prescription from your vet. Peak also have a discount scheme for pets needing repeat prescriptions. My cat has on/off problems with arthritis. If it is bothering him I give him these.... http://www.petnaturals.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=7009605030 They work very well & he loves them, so no trauma trying to get a tablet down him. You can get them via Amazon.
 Share this content via...
