mdex   10 #1 Posted November 28, 2007 Anybody know of a garage that specialises in auto electrics.  Need someone to take a look at my car as it really starting to **** me off!  Would like somewhere that I can drop the car off out hours as I work 9-5. Could possibly drop off at weekends too.  Cheers
 Share this content via...

mdex   10 #3 Posted November 28, 2007 Battery went flat and I had a spare so charged that up and put it in. Car ran for another week and battery was flat again. Changed alternator as someone I know was scrapping their cavalier.  Ran the car for half an hour after putting the new alternator in and it charged the battery but after another week the battery was dead. Don't know enough to know whats wrong. Possibly the wiring?
 Share this content via...

shefflad   10 #7 Posted November 28, 2007 try charging the battery with a proper charger out of the car it might be that not enough charge has been put into the battery if it was flat as it gets colder you use more electric items in the car heater blower wipers rear demist so the battery has not been able to get a full charge try the varta battery place on shoreham street he will check the battery and also voltage drop and also if your alternator is charging correctly the check is free i think
 Share this content via...

whitewitch   10 #11 Posted November 28, 2007 ian shaw from grenoside is in the yellow pages under auto electrician, sorted my car out within 2 mins of having looked at it, also sorted my ex's rover out straight away, he is also mobile so he comes to your home, his rates are also cheap as he doesnt have the overheads of having to pay for a garage, ive used him since 1998, would highly recommend:)
 Share this content via...
mdex   10 #12 Posted November 28, 2007 Somebody has advised graysons already so will keep them in mind.  The mobile buy sounds like a good idea too as I can leave the car and keys with my mum who can pass them on when he arrives.
