Blades Transfer Rumours (Jan 2017 Window)

Recommended Posts

What with Wilder openly stating that he is to add to the squad in the next window, I guess that we should expect 2 or 3 arrivals as he puts it.

The 2 main rumours are that we are about to make a double swoop of loanees in the window, these are Manchester United full back Joe Riley and Fulham and Wales winger George Williams........Both of which would be fantastic young additions to an already exceptional League One squad.

We are also strongly rumoured to be interested in a double swoop of Webster and Gregory from Millwall.

Well,by the sound of it,all the targets have long been identified and it's a case of going down the list to see which ones we can bring in.Reading between the lines, cash is available to spend on fees and Wilder is looking to bring in players who will add something to our play in the attacking sense. It's pretty well agreed that we need a wide player who can put in a good cross to provide more ammo for our forwards, but also players who can fit into our system and who give Wilder more options to change a formation during a game and move players around depending on the situation of the game.

I suppose the EEL situation could throw a minor spanner in the works,so lets hope that goes smoothly, and also it seems a little unfair on squad members who have not managed to get into the team regularly to have to compete with new arrivals, but Wilder is committed to improving the club on the field now and for the future,so he would say that theres no room for sentiment or a pecking order, and everybody is there to fight for the cause and force him to put them in the team............we have a decent sized squad now,it almost picks itself,so we don;t want to upset the balance of that as Wilder will be well aware of,so maybe 2 players who will have to fight for a starting place to come in,I would be surprised if it were any more.

Strong rumours of Samir Carruthers signing.

Decent player. Not much of a goal scorer though seeing has he's supposed to be an attacking minded midfielder. And didn't like his racecourse antics. Lets hope he's matured since then. We can do without this sort of character at the club.

If he does sign though, I'll certainly welcome him and give him a chance.

Well,Wilder had the other player involved at Northampton,so he's got the first hand experience of the incident and dealt with his side of it.

Daniel Lafferty signed permanent contact. Excellent signing, he fit in to most championship sides, so very happy with this.
