*_ash_*   88 #13 Posted December 12, 2016 That's expensive but it is halfords ! Most motor spares will do them for £15 to £20  It might be including fitting though.  The OP said 'they made a mess', so unless OP is an adequate DIYer, it might be a bargain! Skink   10 #21 Posted December 21, 2016 used plateuk on ebay, £12 with proper super strong foam stickers and sets of screws - and quick delivery - impressed  the reason they were targetted to be pinched was that they were only glued on, no screws - so if you have a plate that isnt screwed on expect it to be a target too as most plates use screws these days (which is too slow and/or damages the plates when pinching them)  police reckon plates were used to pinch petrol and in a skip within the hour . . . Monitor   11 #22 Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) Cheap show plates from Ebay are illegal. Number plates must be the correct font, correctly spaced, show the BS number* and the maker's name*.  With show plates you're likely to be stopped, fined and made to pay for correct plates, so you might as well do it right in the first place.  https://www.gov.uk/displaying-number-plates/overview    *EDIT - I can't find any reference to these points, but it certainly used to be the case if it isn't now.
