Jeffrey Shaw   90 #1 Posted December 6, 2016 Maybe- just maybe- the continuing votes against the EU (UK, Italy, Austria, etc- more to come?) signal the end of the entire EU project. See http://www.bing.com/search?q=end%20of%20the%20EU&pc=cosp&ptag=C1A005A2B4283&form=CONBDF&conlogo=CT3210127  So perhaps the UK won't need to serve Notice To Quit ['article 50']; there'll be nothing there from which to leave! geared   309 #2 Posted December 6, 2016 Maybe.  If the EU don't sort their house out it's going to get rough. There are many positives to the EU, but the negative aspects aren't properly dealt with, mainly because one of the biggest issues is bureaucracy. pretty_big   10 #3 Posted December 6, 2016 Hopefully !! I feel a lot of joy personally at the present crashing demise of the failed "project" I'm hoping within 10-15 years they'll be nothing left but a few staunch stubborn countries. I hope Juncker and Merkel etc can't sleep at night, they'll take it to their graves that they've (nearly) killed Europe and I'm sadistically overjoyed by it ! Happy times people. It turns out that even they think the majority of Austrians favour remaining in the EU.
 Share this content via...

4England   10 #8 Posted December 6, 2016 (edited) The significance in Austria really is that Hofer's party is ahead in the polls at 35%  In Italy, 5Star are tied at 30% with Renzi's party  Both of these parties are real contenders and are eurosceptic. We know not to put too much faith in polls, but don't think for a second there's no appetite for Italy and Austria to exit. Not in Austria they are not - they got fewer votes than the annulled vote in May.
 Share this content via...
