Recommended Posts

Anyone know if the 57 Stocksbridge bus is running ok due to flood water, I'm due to catch it at Wadsley church to Fox Valley at 9.45am. Thanks for any info.

Just had a quick look on Environment Agency website. I didn't know that 'not severe' flood warning means 'flooding is expected'.

Severe flood warning is 'severe flooding' - its already happened, danger to life.

Yes. SCC's general advice is at https://www.sheffield.gov.uk/environment/flooding.html

https://flood-warning-information.service.gov.uk/ is HMG's official guidance, from which there seem to be three grades.

'Severe' is the top one [danger to life].

The next one down means flooding expected- immediate action required.

The third is a flooding alert- flooding possible, be prepared.
