Tomjames   10 #13 Posted November 21, 2016 I have been brought up around bikes and cars from a young age. I worked on vehicles with my dad and learned how to repair them. What is your favourite make ie vauxhall, ford etc ? In our family we are Vauxhall mad. Me and my brother own many old vauxhalls, favourite being the mk2 cavalier sri ! What is your favourite and why ?  My fave is the robin reliant. It's got 3 wheels.  ---------- Post added 21-11-2016 at 10:08 ----------  Volvo's largest estate since the 850 in the early 2000s. Current one is a v70 D5 and our first diesel. Not sure what's next though, V90 will be tested alongside Merc and BMW but that is still at least 3 years away. Second car will change relatively soon, thinking of getting a bike and a small 4x4.  The Audi estates like the avant are really good too, if you like that kind of car.  ---------- Post added 21-11-2016 at 10:11 ----------  Easily the best car ever made is the Citroën 2CV, one of which I happen to own! The Citroën DS and Citroën Traction Avant are probably equally as good, especially for their engineering, but as yet, owned neither.  Open sunroof and use 2CV as skip - more useful. geared   302 #14 Posted November 21, 2016 Although Audi isn't really the by-word for reliability it once was, but the Avants are quite nice things to drive.
 Share this content via...

My pal who is a sale rep swears by them, he's tried all the estates Passat etc and some saloons Merc C class etc.
 Share this content via...
geared   302 #16 Posted November 21, 2016 Well there can't be oceans of difference between the Passat and the A4 as they share the same platform. Might get some better suspension in the A4 or something if you go for a Sport model.
 Share this content via...

Looking on eBay I see loads of Audi cars being listed as spares or repair mainly due to engine problems and most are not that old either  ---------- Post added 21-11-2016 at 10:34 ----------  I love cars, proper petrol head but I don't really have a favourite brand. Of what I've owned: The good:  VW Golf R, mark 7. Honda Civic Type R (ep3). Honda Civic 1.6 Vtec 1998. Escort RS2000 M plate.  The bad:  Peugeot 306 1.4l. Renault Megane Coupe. Ford Escort 1.4l.  The ugly:  Peugeot 309.  I used to love my Megane coupe ,bit tight in back and bit heavy on fuel but great fun to throw around
 Share this content via...
Harrystottle   10 #18 Posted November 21, 2016 My first two cars were both Triumph convertibles, a Vitesse and a TR6. Loved them both but there's no denying that cars these days are way better then the old ones. Current car is a 12 year old Honda Civic auto which is supernaturally reliable (watch the engine blow up now I've said that). Electrics were awful, I'd brake and indicators would come on, I'd indicate and headlights would flash. If I wound window down the radio switched off. GerryBooth   10 #20 Posted November 21, 2016 My favourite make is Ford. Had a few and found them reliable and cheap on parts. H  Most liked car though was a Renault 4.
 Share this content via...

andrejuan   10 #22 Posted November 21, 2016 I've always been into cars, I am at my happiest in my garage tinkering with old cars. My favorite oldie has to be the DAF range (got two) Second, probably Sunbeam Rapier. Third 1600e  Of the modern stuff, it has to be Land Rover.
