This 10 game unbeaten run..

Recommended Posts

Usually I would take such a run with a pinch of salt because a runs of form mean nothing unless you replicate it over the course of a season and achieve promotion however we can draw some real positives from this particular run as Kevin Gage explains in The Sheffield Telegraph.

"It’s also to be noted that during this run we’ve played seven teams of the eight nearest to us at the top, and beaten five of them. In fact only Bolton of the top half teams have beaten us, and that was on the opening day on the season with a Blades team that bears no resemblance whatsoever to the current one!"

Looking lower down the table, we’ve also only played two of the bottom eight, and we now have three home games out of the next four, two of which are against struggling teams, with only our second-bottom neighbours Chesterfield to play away. Let’s take nothing for granted but that P word is going to get mentioned more and more if we maintain our form.

A few very interesting points there and clear signs that at the very least, we are an improved team on the last few seasons.

One game at a time for me, these days the strength of squads depends to much on loan players and it can all come tumbling down if their parent club has a change of heart.

It's happened to us before, didn't it happen with Kyle Walker? clubs have clauses where they can have them back early.

Calm down. It's still only October.
