green_man   10 #1 Posted October 24, 2016 Having carried out my usual daily browse of The Star website this morning, I can't help but wonder what sort of of impression our City would give off to any outsiders considering moving here..??  "Man arrested over rape of woman in taxi in Sheffield"  "Man in court over discovery of burnt body with missing head and limbs"  "Cannabis found in car after driver jumps into Sheffield canal to escape"  "Men carried knife in attempted raid of Sheffield shop"  "Police patrols stepped up in Sheffield Suburb"  "House set on fire in arson attack in Sheffield"  "Former Sheffield pub set alight in arson attack"  I think that lot is enough to change a few minds don't you?....That said, they keep telling us just how safe our city is! Everywhere has its bad bits and The Wicker isn't too bad these days. Our city was ruined by the war because we were contributing while Leeds weren't bothering. Peak district on the doorstep if not within the city boundaries. Top flight university, and a good second university. Great brewing and real ale scene. Affordable housing. Despite how the forum sometimes seems, friendly locals. Good road/rail links. Central ish to a lot of the country.  That's just off the top of my head.
