star1234   10 #1 Posted October 16, 2016 I just wanted to post a thread about the above restuarant.  We had a lovely meal here last night, there were 10 of us out for a family birthday & Franko & the team couldn't do enough for us. I've eaten at this establishment a few times & have never been disappointed.  The menu has a good selection of items all are extremely reasonably priced, the service was fantastic & the food delicious.  There is a take-out side & a dine-in side, I've only ever eaten in but the take-out side had a good selection also.  A large glass of vino was only £3.00 too...which is always a bonus! tzijlstra   11 #2 Posted October 16, 2016 Quite like Istanbul as well, it isn't the classiest place, but excellent value for money for good tasting food. Beats the well known chicken place across the road by a substantial margin in my opinion.
 Share this content via...
star1234 Â Â 10 #3 Posted October 16, 2016 Yes I've only eaten at the well known chicken establishment across the road once & I wasn't overly impressed....I don't get all the hype. Â Another nice place that we've dined at a few times is a Chinese restaurant across the road called the Harmony Cafe...well worth a visit if you've not been. Or Zeugma for that matter.
 Share this content via...
star1234 Â Â 10 #5 Posted October 16, 2016 I've not been to Efes but I have heard good reports about that one too...isn't it a bit further up West St? Â I'll add it to my list of places to try & keep you posted. I've not heard of Zeugma so I can't comment....is it a Turkish restaurant? Used to go quite regularly and always enjoyed it.  Think Zeugma 1 has had a bit of a refurb, it used to get awfully hot in there but I think they've now moved the cooking area further away from the eating area. Ghostrider   11 #9 Posted October 26, 2016 When it changed its name to Istanbul, did it change management as well ? Used to go there every now and again, usually before flying out to Turkey. Just got back from Marmaris & Bodrum, and im missing the food already...
 Share this content via...
Guest makapaka   #10 Posted October 28, 2016 Efes is definitely worth a visit. Great fresh salad with your kebab.  We went to efes a couple of months ago and it was really nice food and good value as well.
 Share this content via...
Olive   10 #11 Posted October 28, 2016 How does it compare to Efes on West Street? Or Zeugma for that matter.  Not a lot to choose between them, both are excellent. Efes is maybe slightly more restauranty and Istanbul more of a cafe atmosphere, but very similar.  Mmmmmmmm lamb chops. Gonna have to visit one or the other this weekend now!
