I remember going to the rabbit warren on Green Lane (?) decades ago.

 

Me too. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Remember you had to follow the different colour lines to the various departments, used to use Williams a lot many years ago.

Thats a shame I never knew anything about that..I did a few deliveries for them in the last month everthing seemed OK then.

Phil Murray.... do you recall a driver who worked for Wm Bros called Roy. Its been a while and his surname escapes me. In my drumming days he was a fellow drummer with an excellent band called 'Sweet Lorraine'.

I dealt with and as competition with Williams for years,but about 15 years ago.

I knew a Mr Beaumont from school days.

He'd left when I started but I know who you mean. he did go to work for Tedar Tinkers. Roy H............? cant remember 2nd name but i'm sure it begins with H.

 

could have been Higgins.

Gutted. I restore old car for a hobby and Ifthey didn't have it you couldn't get it. I always found the counter staff helpful and friendly, I hope they find alternative employment soon.

 

I was always happy to wait for my order to arrive to see the variety of trades who came in, could look at obscure bit of ironmongery and tell exactly what the head size was and what kind of thread it was.

 

Sad that these kind of companies are disappearing.
