I agree with what some other members have said, online forums are slowly dying everywhere.

The two Chesterfield forums are all but dead.

Hope that's not because I've been co-owning/running one of them for the last 5 years LOL :-)

Hence me not posting much on here these past few years.

I'm a member of a taxi forum on FB, and read others, but I find it's nothing like this type of forum.

I don't think they flow well, they're difficult to read due to flow and off shot things, difficult to quote certain things, and often have a lot of morons on them.

Wow this has brought back some very interesting and colourful memories. Hello, by the way, to anyone who remembers me (I was dick dastardly when I registered initially, changing to my current username a few years later).

I very rarely post on here now, though I occasionally have a crafty read now and then.

You just can't stay away can you? Lol x

What is missing now is the witty posters.

Wow, that must be so many laughs. It reminds me of the magazines they have on the last round of Have I got News For you, like "Shed fancier's Monthly" or "Gerbil Cage Enthusiast"

Wonder what happened to my mate Harley, probably got nailed by the Mods. I hope that was all he got. Goodnight, God Bless America.

Where's jfkvsnixon? He's not been here for a bit.
Seconded. I used to enjoy his posts/views a lot.

<...>

I'm still a member on Boards.ie (11 years there) and that forum isn't close to even remotely dying: it just keeps on growing.

I've taken to post more on there again, lately. On like-for-like topics, more interesting debates and views.

A big difference relative to SF, is their After Hours section (with several sub-sections, mostly social/comedy/humour), which is a designed-for-purpose section of the site where modding is deliberately 'highly relaxed' (it's not a complete free-for-all...but it's not far off: sensitive souls abstain). It's where members can 'take it outside', post highly irreverently (not to say, in downright bad taste :D) and well beyond the proverbial knuckle.
