Of course they do but that’s the same for all JSA claimants. DLA/PIP and ESA don’t have the same reporting conditions.

And from experience DLA/PIP and ESA have been increasingly restricted to mental health clients in the homeless sector.

Do you begrudge them of their benefits?

Not at all but the qualifying conditions have to apply to everyone. From my experience ESA and PIP have become increasingly difficult for anyone to be successful in claiming. The lack of a permanent address can make evidencing care need and provision difficult although I do know of one person who was successful and got Carer’s Allowance for a fellow homeless person

If they get the benefits to live on they shouldn't need to beg - especially if they don't have any bills to pay !

Gas, electric, water bills all have to be paid out of benefits - as do bus fares, clothing, food etc.

How would they prove they are actively seeking work if they are on the streets?

Most homeless people are in some sort of temporary accommodation.

They are still classed as homeless - people living on the streets are rough sleepers.

so - still no need to beg then if they have a roof and money to live on.

Are you assuming that it's homeless but accomodated people who are begging and not rough sleepers (who most likely aren't claiming benefits)?

Have you read any of the many stories in the press about delays in paying benefit or benefits being sanctioned - or any of this thread prior to posting on it?

Quite a few homeless around City Centre . I wonder if some are not actually homeless but one of those that are pulling a scam . When they finish , they get changed & drive off in their BMW .

Believe one used to commute daily from Nottingham to Sheffield, in his relation's mobility car.
