Why is the internet so slow in S8

Hi, does anybody have the same problem? we live in S8 just near the water tower and our internet is terrible, we are with sky but everybody has said if we change it wont make a difference due to the exchange being so far away, is there any solution?

Unfortunetily there is no solution to this but you may be able to complain to your provider but we need to start from this. Are you on fiber or phone line connection? If on phone you have to look at it like this - all of the houses in the area might use a phone that means they use same phone line which is wired to exchange box. because signal from several house has to share the same cable to exchange, also, the issue is the further you are from box the worse connection is because of increased cable lenght and number of users. This normally isn't an issue for fiber connection unless main distribution frame in exchange box is overloaded. When you signed the contract you should have gotten average or promised minimal broadband speed and if you get less than minimal you can complain to your provider that you cant use lets say, half of what you paying for.

What internet have you got right now? If your on standard ADSL then the chances of any speed increase in the future are very slim. It may be time to think about paying a bit more per month and opting for a fibre connection.

Satellite Broadband. But it's pretty expensive.
