Who could remove abandoned car on private land? No keys or paperwork.

Recommended Posts

Two abandoned cars have been dumped on private land. Council wont pick them up and car scrap companies are not interested. Is there anyone who coukd pick up and if so how much would it be. Thank you, S8 area.

I suspect if they were burned out, they might disappear.

Private land, must be down to the landowner to remove them I think.

What sort of condition, i presume no reg plates but if reasonable condition you have got to suspect stolen. Are all the main bits still there like engine and wheels? Are they L/h drive?

I find it difficult to understand, car scrap companies pay for them usually so the dumpee if the legit owner could surely have made a few bob. If no reg (etched on windows?) can a vin number be found, surely it couldn't be too much trouble for police to check stolen vehicle via vin number, they wouldn't even have to leave the office.

Won't the scrap companies take them because there's no proof of ownership? or is access a problem?

Not that I have ever had to remove an untaxed car but I would put gloves on, move it in the dark of night.

Yes- but only after verifying the car's ownership could the landowner remove the car on grounds of trespass by its owner.
