davyboy #1 Posted September 22, 2016 (edited) I have 3 e mail addresses 2 of which are g mail and yahoo mail. I access them by opening Safari (I have an iMac) and logging into google and yahoo and then clicking onto g mail and yahoo mail. Until recently, when I had problems having changed my yahoo password, I could also access my 3 e mails through Apple's MAIL. Now not only does MAIL not inform me that I have x number of e mails waiting but if I try to get my yahoo e mails it keeps asking for my Yahoo password. I type it in,it's not accepted even entering it again.(nor the old p/w.) There are solutions given byApple: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4478295?start=15&tstart=0 which I cannot understand so it's not just me who has this problem. I have just remembered I turned on the 2 step activation but then turned it off.could this be the reason? Can anyone help? the_bloke #2 Posted September 22, 2016 The most obvious reasons are: Yahoo mail is not allowed POP access Yahoo mail is allowing POP access but you haven't enabled it on the Yahoo web mail configuration Yahoo mail is allowing POP access but your username or password is wrong on Apple Mail
 Share this content via...
davyboy #3 Posted September 22, 2016 problem solved. i went into yahoo via system preferences and was given a account key 16 low case letters.Entering this p/w allows me to get yahoo e mails via apple mail. Let's hope it doesn't reoccur.
 Share this content via...
auto98uk #4 Posted September 24, 2016 Just as another note as well, yahoo requires a periodic sign in via their website - it may not be the change of password but the sign-in that fixed it.
 Share this content via...
