Steel City Beer & Cider Festival 2016

Recommended Posts

Perhaps you could give us a clue as to your occupation? We might wish to avoid dates around beer-festivals when arranging certain activities, e.g. neurosurgery or long-haul flights.

Sure the clue is in his name? Bloody accountants! ;)

I'm going to be moving back to Sheffield in a weeks time and would welcome some company at the festival.

Surely a cover name? No-one would admit to being an accountant!

Sounds like a plan. Tho I find Manchester too spread out for a good beer run. Doesn't have the concentration of good bars that you get in Leeds, Newcastle or Bristol for example. I'd actually put it further down the list of good beer cities than Sheffield.

The list of beers and ciders that are planned to be on the bars at the festival has now been published online at http://www.steelcitybeerfestival.co.uk.

See if there is anything you fancy trying...

only 20 over 6%

72 ales from Sheffield (that's 72 I wont be trying as can get these in pubs)

108 pale ales

cannot see the keg list anywhere.

Slightly harsh Pete. I was going through the list and came up with quite a lot I'd like to try. Although admittedly the majority of these were pale. And I only did it so I didn't duplicate any in Nottingham this weekend, as there will be considerably more to go at there.

It does always surprise me, though, how quickly the bog standard stuff tends to go at festivals when, as you say, you can get them anywhere round town. Can only imagine they are drunk by people who are visiting for the festival. Or those that like the atmosphere of a festival but have a morbid fear of trying anything new. Which is fairly common for Sheffield folk tbh...

Thats about 50% pale then, about right as its what most people drink.

Keg list coming soon.
