BigRachel Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 over the past few months i have started noticing a trend every where i turn there are diversion signs, and road closed signs on every road. i mean i get that the roads are terrible and dangerous but they have been like that for years now, They leave them untill they are that bad they need to shut all the roads down to repair them. another annoying thing about this is before they have finished to fully repair one road they start on another so before you know it you have multiple roads shut down and your usual 20 minute school run becomes a 45 minute school run. one of the roads in our area was repaired only last week, this week the same road is shut down to fix a repair already. now if they had done this properly the first time there wouldnt be any need to keep closing down road. smithy266 Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Seems like all the side roads off Greenhill Road are being resurfaced, yet roads with heavy traffic, Archer Road, for instance, are no better than farm tracks. Just do the easy ones, then run out of money before the worst ones are done, maybe?
BigRachel Posted September 16, 2016 Author Posted September 16, 2016 Yes thats what it looks like doesn't it. i mean i have had 2 popped tyres near riverlin, cost me upwards of hundred pound, i have kids i cant keep affording to repair my car.

And I've been told by a guy at constrain head office that the road works from junction 36 to 28 won't be finished till March next year where they should have been done this week. How poor is that !!
BHRemovals Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 why not send you kid to school on the bus, or to a local one.
BigRachel Posted September 16, 2016 Author Posted September 16, 2016 I know i have heard the exact same thing myself. If they had done all this when it needed doing they wouldnt be behind. I get they have a lot to do but instead of leaving it to the last minute it wouldnt be so bad. ---------- Post added 16-09-2016 at 10:58 ---------- BH Removals. i would rather take my kids to school my self, better to be safe than sorry, alot of bad things happening alately!
Blackbeard Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Question. There are only 1,180 miles of adopted roads and 2,050 miles of pavements in Sheffield, if they could do one mile a day and worked 365 days a year how long would it take to reserface the roads and pavements of Sheffield? Your kids could work that out on the way to school.
