I've just seen an owl sat on a wall, the RSPCA didn't want to know.

I fully understand they have more urgent cases but didn't even offer any help.

They just spoke as if its normal for owls to be sitting on garden walls on a main road.

Someone has lost a barn owl from Ecclesfield could it be that one?

Anybody lost a racing pigeon,I've got it safe but not captive so online reporting service not interested.

If you can catch it and note the number on its leg ring you can trace its owner Here .

Err, isn't it? What is so odd about that?

Just to clarify to save the repeat advice, you can only get in touch with the on-line reporting line once it's captive and have the details. At the moment it's on my garage roof and won't come to hand.

Exactly how many owls have you seen sitting on garden wall's, on a main road in rush hour traffic.

The RSPB said as they are nocturnal more than likely there is a problem and sent someone to check

Would the owner of a racing pigeon want a pigeon that didn't bother coming home? It won't win many races.

No probably not. I know what'll happen if the OP retursn it, just leave it where it is!

Where abouts in S11 are you? I know someone who's had two racing pigeons land in their garden (also S11) over the last couple of months.

I caught one last year and called the owner.(Number was attached to it)

You have to keep a firm grip as they are quite wriggly!

Apparently they do often touch down for rest stops and when the have recovered strength, they carry on their journey, this happened with one I found in our garden. If I recall the owner was from Doncaster, so it still had a way to go.
