Seepee Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Anybody lost a racing pigeon,I've got it safe but not captive so online reporting service not interested.
Seepee Posted September 15, 2016 Author Posted September 15, 2016 It's in perfect health, goes off to roost at sunset and comes back for breakfast at dawn. I thought it was just tired, hungry and dehydrated but it seems to like it here with my 6 chickens. If it would come off my garage roof I could get the owners details and contact him myself.

Seepee Posted September 15, 2016 Author Posted September 15, 2016 Got to be worth a try it's beautiful and could be worth a fortune. (Not wanting a reward just to be clear)

woggle Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I've just seen an owl sat on a wall, the RSPCA didn't want to know. I fully understand they have more urgent cases but didn't even offer any help. They just spoke as if its normal for owls to be sitting on garden walls on a main road.
Eater Sundae Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Would the owner of a racing pigeon want a pigeon that didn't bother coming home? It won't win many races.
Bert1 Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I'm not pulling your leg here, honestly. I have employed the ACME baby bath upside down propped up with a stick tied to a rope and trail of bird seed trick (copyright W.E Coyote) to successfully capture and return not one, but two lost racing pigeons in the past few years. The first time it worked was just the best feeling - like having a childhood dream come true.
