stpetre   12 #32 Posted September 15, 2016 In a similar vein.... I can remember the 4-4 draw with Chelsea back in 1985..Wednesday were 3-0 up at HT...only for Chelsea to score 4 in the second half...it took a Mel Sterland penalty in the last minute to bring it level..  I think that (great) game was a League Cup tie, so they had to go to Stamford Bridge for a replay, the outcome of which I forget.  ---------- Post added 15-09-2016 at 17:57 ----------  Yes I remember that one I think Sterland also won the penalty after a "foul" by Doug Rougvie. Paul Cannoville came on as a sub for Chelsea and had the game of his life.  Yes Paul Cannoville had some game that night and I think he came on as a sub after half-time. He was running straight at and past the Owl's defenders as if they weren't there. Mark Smith, an otherwise career excellent defender was at fault more than once. Mel Sterland later said that he 'dived' for the penalty but as Rougvie had previously kicked everything in a blue and white shirt that moved that evening perhaps 'justice' was done. -In the end for 'nowt' !  ---------- Post added 15-09-2016 at 18:12 ----------  Weren't Wednesday involved in a 0-2 to 3-2 match in 66? Or am I thinking of North Korea vs Portugal? There are some good comebacks here http://www.thesportster.com/soccer/top-10-in-game-comebacks-in-soccer-history/  Portugal came from 0-3 down to beat North Korea 5-3 in that World Cup game at Goodison Park in 1966. Futures Red   11 #36 Posted September 16, 2016 A very good comeback to be fair.  But Bristol will be bottom half at the end of the season. So a win was expected anyway.
 Share this content via...
