bertyboop Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Avoid the motorway lol no but if you go on maps on android you can put it so it gets a route for walkers and how long the trip will take x ---------- Post added 13-09-2016 at 21:09 ---------- 1 day 4 hours I've just looked
Ashcroft Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 is there any more info on this? meeting place, time and date. i have been thinking of doing it myself but doing it for charity would be great
backwardben Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 hi all. i have organised a charity walk next year from sheffield to skeggy. does anyone have any route maps or advice for doing this walk. thanks ? did this as kids years ago, we did not have a map . about 1968 walked there and borrowed some of them 4 wheeled bikes to get home:D
Annie Bynnol Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 (edited) Any guide a walk to Skegness will be out of date as there is a new crossing of the Trent at Torksey. eg Mostly footpath/towpath/bridleway Sheffield to Halfway to Killamarsh Follow Chesterfield Canal(route) to Kiverton Bridge Use Chesterfield Canal towpath to Retford then Welham. Minor road and path to Ratcliffe Sluice Along the Trent to Torksey To Lincoln Viking Way to Horncastle to Skegness For Lincolnshire routes use this link Or Cycle Route mostly minor roads and bridleways 6 from Rotherham/Sheffield 647 across Fledborough 64 to Lincoln 1 to Spilsby to Skegness Avoid A57 at Dunham Cycle routes are often easier walking. Canal towpaths are not usually Public Rights of Way so do not appear on OS maps Edited December 1, 2016 by Annie Bynnol
