oasismark Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 (edited) Hi Was busy last night, i can call later today if thats ok, at work so cant talk now, but can message on here. Whats your thoughts? We are brand new, formed on Sheff Forum, met up once and are currently gathering songs to sort a setlist. Were all early 40's aged and live in Chapeltown & Hillsborough area. Examples of songs are: Do I Wanna Know - Monkeys Club Foot - Kasabian The Day We Caught The Train - Ocean Colour Scene Waterfall - Stone Roses Sit Down - James Oasis - DLBIA Oasis - Supersonic Blur - Song 2 Shoot The Runner - Kasabian Chasing Rainbows - Shed 7 Sea Horses -Love Is The Law Stone Roses - Made Of Stone Riverboat Song - Ocean Colour Scene The La's - There She Goes Bitter Sweet Symphony - The Verve Charlatans- one to another Charlatans-north country boy Bet that you look good on the dancefloor - Monkeys Sterophonics - Dakota All that kind of stuff, old school 90's indie mixed with new indie inspired songs. The ultimate aim is to get good enough to be a function band, weddings, festivals, parties etc. but also just want to enjoy it and play songs we love, and see how far we can get. wassamadda1 Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Are you sorted re vocals? I'm Chap area. Have you considered doing this acoustically?
Bobthebassis Posted September 13, 2016 Author Posted September 13, 2016 I sing a couple of numbers and back on nearly all. 3 part harmonies. As for acoustically, no I haven't as my acoustic base is not good enough for the gig. I bought it years ago for home use. Its a Legacy make. Ok for home but that's about its limit. Thanks
wassamadda1 Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Sorry Bob. The reply was meant for the fella putting the band together.
oasismark Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 (edited) Hi wassa Sorted for main vocals but need backing vocals Do you play guitar? We will do some acoustic but not the whole set Edited September 16, 2016 by oasismark
wassamadda1 Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Pick the guitar up once every six months and soon lose interest, I'm afraid. Basic chord stuff would be OK. I've been singing in bands for about 18yrs now and I suppose I've taken the easy option and just turn up and warble rather than carry loads of gear around. Would consider backing if needed and would consider an acoustic sideline, perhaps two guitars and vox? Cheers.
