green_man Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Getting geared up for a great weekend now and can't wait for this one! Travelling down on Friday afternoon and coming home on Sunday so don't worry yourself too much about my absence We should be going for another 3 points here on the back of a couple of morale boosting wins from behind against Oxford and Gillingham. Fingers crossed anyway because I will be coming straight out of the ground and commuting straight over for a pint before watching "one of our own" (Special K) against GGG. Fingers crossed for a blades double on Saturday!

Haha, Honestly I won't have time for a slash never mind to come on here! Drinking in the morning and then into the football but then at the final whistle we have got to jump into taxi's most probably because we need to get over to the O2 in quick time as the undercard starts at around 6pm and we want to watch young Conor Benn (Son of nigel) and Kid Galahad fights. Oh the joys of £5 pints in the O2!
rogets Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Things aren't what they used to be 20 years ago. We no longer have a Sheffield team in the premiership, the players don't play with their hearts on their sleeves anymore, my ex wife left me for another man and now I live alone I have no job and no friends But I think United will win this game 2 -1
green_man Posted September 11, 2016 Author Posted September 11, 2016 Another important 3 points to continue a nice little winning run however let's be honest about the opponents.....They were poor! The worse I have seen us up against this season and we dominated the game for large spells of the game but didn't take our chances. We should have been at least double that scoreline for goals scored! The goals conceded were sloppy as we became complacent. The first was completely against the run of play and a bit of a shock for us as Wimbedon hadn't even gone close by that point.....The second was a defensive lapse from a set piece and was slack defending, should have been avoided! A lovely 9 points from 9 but the truth said, if we want to get out of this league this season then by rights we should have been expecting 7 points from those fixtures anyway. Oxford and Wimbledon games we have to be winning anyway, Gillingham away you expect a draw and we bagged three points so happy days there. The tough contest starts now! Four very big games coming up and the next two against Peterborough and Scunthorpe will be an important measure of how far we have come this season to date!

Four very big games coming up and the next two against Peterborough and Scunthorpe will be an important measure of how far we have come this season to date! I think this is the thing though mate, winning three games in a row is good in any standard of football but for me it's conceding goals against two clubs - (Oxford and Wimbledon) I have a big issue with. I'm certainly concerned about this. We won't get clubs like these two who will be as poor, so the so called tougher teams in this league won't give us much in terms of us creating chances. I may come across a little negative but in reality if we don't cut out this silly mistakes, we'll be punished. Everyone knows that to get promoted, the strength of the defence is critical. I wonder if we'll get the 5 wins on the trot I mentioned the other day... probably not
Robbie Loving Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Few goals and a win. Shame to see we are still conceding on a regular basis. Forwards.both scoring too. The last 3 games have not only been wins for us, but Bolton have also drawn in each of these games, enabling us to close 6 points from the top of the league. Top half of the table now and climbing quickly. Long may it continue
