Eater Sundae   12 #49 Posted September 2, 2016 I wouldn't know how to tell a Mormon from a Jehovah's Witness.  As soon as there's any hint that they want to talk about any sort of religion, I say "No thank you", and close the door. apelike   10 #51 Posted September 2, 2016 I wouldn't know how to tell a Mormon from a Jehovah's Witness.  Two clues.. Mormons who go knocking at doors are generally men whereas JW's who go knocking are generally women.  But in either case just tell them you love God and invite them in to see your photos of the Pope. monkey104 Â Â 10 #52 Posted September 2, 2016 There are a couple of elderly ladies who come to my door on occasion. The first time I opened it and ended up having a discussion. I explained that I was an atheist and was asked who I went to in times of trouble. I told them ( at the time ) I was a soldier just back from Afghanistan and off to Iraq the following month and in times of trouble I thought about my family and called them. I cannot remember how the conversation ended but they have called a couple of times since and I find myself hiding behind the curtains. flamingjimmy   10 #53 Posted September 2, 2016 (edited) The Jehovah's Witnesses are a sinister cult who made life hell for a friend of mine, and encouraged her family to disown her.  I confront them when I can to try and prevent them from doing the same to others.  I'm not rude to them, but the few times they've knocked on my door I've invited them in to talk about their shunning practises and their end of the world predictions. So far I've had no takers. Edited September 3, 2016 by flamingjimmy
 Share this content via...
kingdom   10 #54 Posted September 6, 2016 Sinister cult  Does a sinister cult  Help people to live better lives? Help alcoholics? Help drug addicts? Help reform violent people? Help in all parts of the earth during natural disaster? Teach people to read ? Emphasise the showing of love as the major factor of Christianity ? Encourage children to grow up with good morals and respect ? I can go on but you would be better going to our website and finding the actual facts rather than relying on misinformation .  https://www.jw.org/en/
 Share this content via...

It gives them access to people when they're most vulnerable and it's good PR. Any other questions.
 Share this content via...
