Given the severity of the crime would it not have been reasonable to push to have her remanded in custody?

or even examined/detained under the mental health act??

It's not the police who decide that though. It's the courts.

The only section of the MHA the police can use alone is section 136 which is removal from a public place to a place of safety, after which Drs can detain for upto 72hrs, under all other sections (such as 135, which is removal from own home) the police cant act without either AMPs, Drs or a judge. So the police are limited in what they can achieve.

I have always found Walkley a very safe place to visit. I am unfamiliar with the killers discussed on this thread and don't understand if they are implicated in this recent and terrible murder. RIP the poor chap that was murdered. No one has the right to take another person's life.

If only people who rob the rest of the UK taxpayers were locked up then they'd not be able to buy those illegal cigarettes anymore.

Whoever deemed this woman fit to be unleashed on a community after her last sentencing should be facing some tough questions.

She had no previous sentencing - she had no previous convictions.

She was on bail but not convicted.

They are, they've been sentenced for it.

Think you are getting mixed up Colin, this thread is about a murder last August but from the recent one over the weekend.
