pugs   10 #37 Posted June 19, 2006 I used to work there from 94 to 97 as a glass collector (whilst at uni) - Dave Allen owned it, with his son and a lady called Maggie running it. Mitch was the DJ and Big nige among others (mick etc) where on the doors - Staff came and went, but there where a few who where there a while including dicky(richard), mick, Vicky, Gina, Helen, Nicky, John, katie, .. They used to serve pints in old(ish) fashioned glasses with handles - which you dont see anymore - the girls behind the bar all wore fishnets, and the galss collectors wore dicky bows. Mondays was RnB, Wednesdays where dead - Thursdays was cheap, and Fridays and Saturdays where quite busy (and in the restuarant). You did get alot of regulars - and yes the dance floor was small, with a stage and yes -new york new york playing every night... which although did get quite annoying, was also good as it meant i had nearly finished!!! There where alot of funny moments, with hen party's people being sick, people doing things they shouldnt have done ! and the steps up to it - the amount of people who fell down them... At the time of the snooker, all of them ended up in there, as did a few on the world's strongest men. Footballers went in alot, aand some where ok but a few did have big egos... Othere memories include the staff in the toilets (Paul offering everything and anything from aftershaves to haircuts... Nice place and lots of memories - it be interesting if any regulars or ex staff read this and post a reply
 Share this content via...

Mr.Freedom   10 #48 Posted September 1, 2006 I went to Josephines on the first night but I had to go home and change because I had the wrong style of suit jacket on.Do you remember the bouncers that worked there (the deaf wrestler etc.) I also was a member of Baileys and before that when it was the Cavendish ( I think) TTFN.
