damo_bar   10 #1 Posted August 17, 2016 My 207 diesel is baking my brain it keeps cutting out and saying antipollution fault this is pretty dangerous especially going on motorway I've googled it and it says go up motorway for 15 mins in 3rd gear and its not worked also now when engine turn off there is a squealing noise and then clicking which is new
 Share this content via...
jonnyenglish   10 #2 Posted August 17, 2016 its the fap (dpf) filter which is clogged , you have to get the car up to temp then go for a 30 min run at over 60 mph in high revs and it should do a regeneration of the fap filter which simply means it will burn the ash away from inside , you have to maintain the speed/revs for the whole time or it will not work or you can take it to your local peugeot dealer and they will do a "forced" regeneration by plugging it into their computer
 Share this content via...
zigzag   10 #3 Posted August 18, 2016 Hi...as said earlier it could be the particulate filter thats blocked ,doing a regeneration can help but if the engine is cutting out as a result it may be too late and a manual cleaning or replacement will be needed. Another part to look at is the EGR valve which could also be blocked or even broken ....this could be causing the noise you are hearing as it's trying to wing itself back to default setting ....Diesels with DPF are just a bitch! alchresearch   214 #4 Posted August 19, 2016 Generally, a DPF fault is characterised by "Depollution fault" on screen. "Antipollution fault" generally refers to the fuel system and traditional cat and exhaust.  The OP doesn't mention the year or HP of his 207, so it might not even have a DPF if its a 1.4 or 90 bhp model.  And the DPF system won't regenerate if any of the many components it uses are faulty. Glow plugs, glow plug relay, additive tank or pouch, additive pump, fuel cap magnets and the cooling fan are all instrumental to the DPF cleaning process.  If just one of those isn't working then it won't regenerate, either on its own or forced.  The only way to be sure is to get a Planet or Diagbox diagnostic. See this link to find fellow Pug owners with the kit (not all garages own it because of the price, and generic scan-anything code readers won't necessarily show the problem and teh garage will just throw parts at the problem at your expense.)  http://www.peugeotforums.com/forums/general-discussion-2/how-contact-member-peugeot-planet-diagnostic-28190/
 Share this content via...
