Shot blasting/Powder Coating recommendations

I've been looking into this as I want some bits of my car powder coating ... bumpers, wheels, engine cowling, light bar, seat frames etc.

I went to visit Two Brothers Coatings Company (Ball Street, off Rutland Road) who specialise in such work. They seem pretty friendly and know what they're doing. Prices are reasonable too ... I'll be using them.

Just trying to find someone who does yellow zinc passivation and bright zinc plating now.

I'll give Classic plating a call tomorrow (worth a bash even if it just goes to prove that you need to be an alchemist to zinc plate ... which I'm not)

Why? I was pretty impressed by the quality of work they were doing when I went round. You're not the guy with the Honda rocker cover are you?

Tried the place at Chesterfield called DFB off Brimmington Rd,nobody around to help me or give me a price so went to Two Brothers,they couldn't be more unhelpful if they tried,they wanted me to take it somewhere else for shot blasting first then bring it to them for powder coating,when I asked where to take it I got the response "just google it" I walked away.

 

Then went to CBF Powder Coatings just off Penistone Rd,really nice people and very helpful,they got my business.

There is also one on A57 ( Red Lion pub roundabout ) to Dinnington road, go past Animal rescue centre, turn right and it is on right hand side.

I've tried phoning, been down there numerous times and no joy. Gave up trying to reach them in the end

Strange, I know of three firms that (used to?) do blasting for them, looks like they've fallen out with them all.

Another vote for CBF - they did my Land Rover winter wheels last year and made a really nice job of them (and were very friendly and helpful too). I didn't recommend them to you originally because they're not very close to Meadowhead.

shot blasting and powder coating on my very large bull bar was quoted at approx £100 which was about what I was expecting for a proper job,they quoted £45-£55 per wheel depending if tyres were fitted or not,when I enquired,may think about getting mine done soon

If you find somewhere worthwhile can you let us know please? I've got an old Chopper bike frame I've been wanting to get shot blasted (it's got most of the original paintwork removed already, just the stubborn bits) and powder coated, it's on my list for 'one day'

No not me, first time i went i thought it may be just a one off thing, after the second time i've decided i wont go back there. Unhelpful, uninterested, is an understatement......

Felt the same way about Two Brothers, might give CBF Powder Coatings a try
