Owls Steering Group

Recommended Posts

Can't you go a couple of hours without food? I never buy food or a programme or pay for parking. A pint of John Smiths is under £2 on match days at the Park.

Apart from tickets, which I agree are overpriced, match day doesn't have to be expensive if you don't want it to be.

A 14yr old going a couple of hours without food:gag:

He'd start threatening to call child line over starvation.

If I'm going Jim then the kids are, the young in likes collecting programmes and badges.

Yes I could say no, take snap, catch a bus...

But that's not my kids match day experience.

Why not have a family ticket for £60?

Mr Chansiri apologises to fans for play-off defeat.

He became emotional when he described how his son held back the tears so as to, "not make daddy sad"... Mr Chansiri says he doesn't want to put the fans or his son through that again but insist this season will be tougher. But he is prepared to push harder.

From this season, every toilet around the stadium will have at least 1 hot water tap

Catering discussed (again) at length. We are tied in for 3 more years and breaking the contract would be circa £1,000,000.

Mr Chansiri is 'prepared' to look at other options.

Players are being negotiated with and deals expected in the next few weeks.

From this season, the last (H) game of the CALENDAR season, (Last home game in December) we will be holding a minutes applause for fans who have died throughout the year. Families are invited to contact the club with a photo/message that will be displayed on the big screen during the minute. - This is a lovely touch!!!

Mr Chansiri defended the clubs ticketing policy and indicated that ST prices are lower than last season and match day pay-on-the-gate are frozen from last year. The club are looking at a 10-game ticket but it is difficult to organise but aren't ruling it out.

Mr Chansiri says the new kit is a representative of his 'era' at the club. He has looked through our history and acknowledges that although he doesn't like stripes, that is our history so we are keeping stripes. He liked the kit of 1962/63 and this kit represents that.

The cost of £49 for a child's shirt was described as a "disgrace" by a member of the steering group which most were in agreement with. The club will look at the price in the next few days/weeks.

Work expected to start on modernising Hillsborough in the pipeline but major changes "when we are in the Premier league"

DC will do "everything for the good of the club"

Safety Advisory Group "cautious" about allowing flags with sticks and the current ban remains in place for the upcoming season. They welcome the scarfs initiative and the ‪#‎WallOfNoise‬ & ‪#‎SeaOfBlueAndWhite‬ campaign.

There was a delay in getting the training ground ready because had we gone up DC wanted a new state-of-the-art deso (not sure if the spelling is right there) pitch and new facilities to be built. Now, however, 2 of the 3 pitches are ready from Monday.

Wine will be served in a (plastic) wine glass rather than a pint pot.

The first priority are the players on the pitch. Once we are promoted the ground will receive a major upgrade. We are sailing close to the wind in terms of FFP... If we increase the budget this year and fail to get promoted then we will be in trouble.

:(

Oh dear...

I hope someone will point out where I've obviously missed something, but I can't see anything there to get any Owls fan excited about the coming season...

... unless you're the sort who always insists on washing their hands before consuming your half-time pie! :gag:

More like a committee meeting. If I'd have spent all that money on the club, for then to have ungrateful fans I'd be very cheesed off!

Hot tap water... come on! :hihi:

Clear plans for the future of the club all explained by the owner...

An owner who is happy to come over to Sheffield on a regular basis and discuss supporters concerns directly.

An owner who has proven he is as good as his word,by transforming the club in the year he's been here.

Obviously he has taken flack over ticket prices and other issues...but the over riding feeling is that he has the vast majority of supporters behind him.

Wednesdayites can't wait for this season...especially when further new signings arrive.

Who's the signings Sheridan? Getting a bit late in the day for them, do you think the club will get them cheaper - should it be on the eleventh hour?

I have no inside track on who the signings are...and how is it late in the day?

Season hasn't started yet & the transfer window is open until 31st August..

The club has to work within FFP and can't/won't be spending silly money on transfers...and you would imagine players/agents are leaving it as late as possible to see who makes them the best offer..

Hmmm...

... I'm not sure that signing a player who has left it as late as possible to 'see who makes them the best offer' is necessarily in the best interests of the club.

Surely, it makes far more sense to get players signed up early and who really want to join the club, and also gives them more time working together as a team...

... than to sign someone at the last minute who didn't have any better offers?

But what do I know!

Can't disagree with any of that...it seems to be the way these days..

I agree, but thats how it tends to work these days...after all its just a job to them and a short one at that..

Don't wanna make rush signings from the likes of Coventry,Oldham ect we need better than that, lets take our time and buy the right players.

Ok, you'd have though you would want to do all the business before the 31st for obvious reasons, any hints of signings, who would you want to being in?
