Owls Steering Group

What circumstances?

I really don't think our chairman has any trouble with people liking him, check the photos from Owls in the Park yesterday.

That's my point though... he's prep-ing you!

I won't talk about it no more because it's unfair.

whats happened to Jim Phipps and the Prince...

Sure I can.

The Prince has always kept a low profile because of circumstances. As for Jim Phipps, as for as I'm aware he's no longer directly involved with Sheffield United. We've had a boardroom change and don't feel the need to go on a big PR campaign.

Whereas your current president may feel the need to do this because of cold taps and other things such as higher price tickets. So as you'll agree, he's going to have to get his people liking him.

Do you make this up to try and provoke a reaction...?:hihi:

I'll leave you to your silly childish comments..

The only thing he's prepping is another attempt to get to the Premier League, it might take one year it might take five but it will happen.

Has our chairman got a magic wand that guarantees promotion, no of course not. He said he would like to be in the Premier League for the clubs 150th year but if it doesn't happen it doesn't happen and he continue to work for it until it does.

:hihi:

Indeed...

... and that's just what a lot of Unitedites were trying to tell you all last year, but no-one seemed to want to listen.

And it appears from your meeting write-up that Mr Tuna has also accepted that it will be tougher this season...

... something a lot of us were also trying to tell you when you missed out at Wembley.

But hey, now you've got hot running water at least you'll be able to save a few bob by making your own Bovril at half-time! ;)

Nobody expected promotion last season, we went close. We'll be there or thereabouts this time but may miss out again who knows. Along with that running water we've also got a fantastic team that plays the game the right way and scores goals a plenty and thats what you pay your money for at the end of the day.

We've had the same favourites to win the pub league for the last 6 years,it doesn't allways happen, there's 21 other clubs aiming for the prize too so we'll just have to wait and see.

:)

That's right of course...

... but there does now seem to be a shift in opinion about the chances of promotion this season.

Last year we were told by Wednesdayites on here that there was no pressure to get promotion, the play-offs would be a bonus, and the real challenge for promotion would be this year.

Now the time has come to deliver, it appears that some have accepted that it may take 5 years.

I think people are beginning to realise that the trip to Wembley was not as good a day out as they originally thought... :|

I can assure you mate my weekend including the Wembley trip was fantastic, an unexpected bonus at the end of a season of great football. We may yet deliver this season who knows. You'll also find many posts by myself on here stating that the aspirations of football chairman with a pinch of salt.
