The Moor Sheffield

 

Yorkshire Day is an official day to celebrate the county of Yorkshire, the first one happened in 1975 and it has been celebrated ever since.

 

Come down to the moor on the 1st of August and join Ignite Imaginations for a day celebrating everything Yorkshire, a high quality family friendly event.

 

There will be music, crafts and food all Yorkshire themed. More details to follow.

 

 

Celebrate Yorkshire this year on the Moor through dance performances, traditional sports, crafts, creative workshops and food tasters.

 

Traditional sports activities from Activity Sheffield, including welly wanging!

Lots of FREE crafts activities; Make a white rose puppet or brooch to take home, enter your own race with a whippet inspired mask, make bracelets and necklaces using the Yorkshire flag colors, and add your own Yorkshire phrases to our story board.

Artists and makers showcasing and selling their creations

Dancing, singing and performances from folk music to flamenco. There will be performances from Sylvaine School of Dance, Abi Prettyman, Romano Jilo Dance Group, Treebeard, Sunrit Cultural Group and many more. Full program to be announced.

Photo Competition

 

We are inviting you to submit your photo’s of Yorkshire to our photo competition. We are looking for images of what yorkshire means to you, from beautiful scenery to pictures of Yorkshire people. Our ten favourite photos will be displayed on the Moor on the day. Get your photo’s into us by the 15th July. E-mail photos and a short description to [email protected]

 

Theatre Delicatessen will open their café doors for you to enjoy a Yorkshire Tea and cake!

Hi,

 

We do appreciate that Monday isn't convenient for everyone, unfortunately that's the day Yorkshire Day falls on this year. We have lots of other stuff going on over the summer on Saturdays check out our website for more information
