Global climate emergency

Scientists warn of 'global climate emergency' over shifting jet stream.

The jet streams mixing will lead to the equalisation of Northern and Southern hemispheres. This will lead to a merging of Summer and Winter, does that sound familiar?

Rubbish.

A half a scientist has spotted something that he doesn't understand and wants some money. This is perfectly normal weather behaviour. You didn't give him any money did you?

The obvious solution is to set up more free trade deals with countries like China and India so even more products can be unsustainably produced in heavily polluting plant, while we turn a blind eye to the accelerating use of low grade coal and over fossil fuels for their power generation.

This way we will have cheap TVs and phones etc.., even if the weather gets a biit evil

Those are somebody else's carbons. It's like when I finish my wife's dinner. They're not my calories so it doesn't count.

Does one of them look like Dennis Quaid?

The story is based around is happening with the jet stream, maybe they have exagerated.

"The main system that helps determine the weather over Northern Europe and North America may be changing, research suggests.

The study shows that the so-called jet stream has increasingly taken a longer, meandering path."

Are they scientists or just bloggers?

Recently we have had real scientists discovering that Sunspots have disappeared and that the hole in the Ozone layer is getting smaller and healing. Now coupled with the jet stream shifting I think it safe to say it will be colder at night than in the day.

The actual experts in the field have literally declared it "utter nonsense".

Germany is set to host the world's first zero-emission, hydrogen passenger train which should kick into gear next year.

The Coradia iLint only emits excess steam into the atmosphere, and provides an alternative to the country’s 4,000 diesel cars currently in circulation in Germany.

That's funny.

The only remotely affordable way to generate hydrogen gas is from methane (natural gas) and the process produces masses of CO2.

Still I suppose they should get a few points for effort.

4,000 diesel cars in all of Germany are hardly going to be very responsible for polluting, especially considering quite a lot of modern diesels actually exhale cleaner air than they inhale.

As I've said on another thread though, with modern technology, I feel there's a strong case for reintroducing steam powered vehicles.
