Sue wright   10 #1 Posted June 24, 2016 Hi  Anyone know of the name or exact whereabouts of a strawberry picking place not from the De Rhodes pub ? Went a couple of year ago and cannot remember exact location or name . Or anyone know anywhere I can pick strawberries and gooseberries near Chesterfield or Sheffield .  Thanks Sue
 Share this content via...
gregnig   10 #2 Posted June 24, 2016 Used to be about a mile from De Rhodes pub on the Worksop Road but had to close because the land they rented was sold by the owner.
 Share this content via...

green_man   10 #7 Posted June 30, 2016 (edited) Birchin Lee Nurseries (Dronfield Woodhouse). Holmesfield Road Dronfield Woodhouse Sheffield S18 8WS  According to the link below, the Strawberries are ready now as it lists between end of June and mid July so go fill your boots (well not literally as that would be both messy and theft)  If you aren't familiar with area, there is a map and directions on the site.  http://www.pearsonsnurseries.co.uk/pick_your_own.html  P.S Whilst in the area I would also strongly recommend a visit to Border View Farm Shop on Rod Moor Road. This place isn't far at all from the P.Y.O fruit place and they do some fantastic home made produce, the sausages and burgers are to die for and the home made steak pies are to die for. I am in no way connected to the place what so ever and merely stumbled on it whilst working in the Bradway area.
