scottcross   17 #110 Posted February 21, 2017 Thomson are using Flybe for some of their flights for holidays in their Lakes and Mountains catalogue. Not sure if they will be using DSA though.  Just back from Malaga last night .Went out and returned with Flybe from Doncaster,3 flights a week .Taxi with City £80 return which i think is good value door to door.We looked at the train and bus options but taxi from our house to Sheffield rail station then train and bus to the airport it was to much hassle . *_ash_*   87 #112 Posted February 21, 2017 (edited) Can book a weeks car parking, drive to and from Manchester airport and have change for a pint or two with £40!  Can also save driving there and all the stress of it; save driving back with possibly/almost certainly more stress with potential delays/bad flight; Finding parking space, arguing with the machine, potential long walk, can't find it straight on way back. Someone's chipped the door.  Or you can pay for someone to pick you up, and drop you right at the door. And they'll be there to pick you up at the other end of the trip, so you can have a pint or two before AND after.  It's just the age old question of price and what you have at your disposal. If someone has no money and flight ticket, then I'd suggest walking there. If £40 is a figure that is too insignificant for all the hassle, then take a cab. The return journey adds an extra 1:30 than Doncaster for me.
 Share this content via...

neeeeeeeeeek   10 #115 Posted March 6, 2017 Anyone hired a minibus to Gatwick Airport? Hows much was it?  Any recommendations?  Cheers
 Share this content via...
hillsgal   10 #116 Posted April 10, 2017 Can anyone recommend an airport taxi service that would do the trip from Sheffield to Heathrow for a reasonable price? It would be during the day on a Sunday. Before anyone tells me to get the train or coach, the reason I'm looking at a taxi service is because we're going to have a large amount of luggage which would be pretty unmanageable by train. I've also already looked into prices and the cheapest train tickets would add up to over £250 for us, so I don't think a taxi would be much different. Coaches are way cheaper, but they'd take nearly double the time it would to drive, and we're going to have a long enough flight without adding unnecessary extra time for the journey to Heathrow. He has a really nice Mercedes Vito with loads of luggage space.  https://www.facebook.com/Bespokevoyage/  ---------- Post added 10-04-2017 at 06:38 ----------  You could try John Fellows at Bespoke Voyage. Kath4747 Â Â 10 #118 Posted April 25, 2017 Hi there - I am trying to arrange airport transfers to Manchester and also to Gatwick, both in June of this year. I have used Connextions before and have been trying to contact them but no-one is answering land line or mobile and not replying to the request form on their website. Does anyone know if this company is still running and if not can anyone recommend another firm to arrange these transfers with. Thanks
 Share this content via...
