The consequence thread (Brexit)

With some very right of centre Tories in charge. Don't expect the NHS to getting any of that £350m. Don't expect an NHS.

Yes. Look out for falling skies and boiling seas too. This will be followed by the 10 plagues of Egypt and then Satin will rise up and rule over the Earth.

There's a lot of money to be saved in the public sector not related to providing public services. Every new Conservative PM comes in intending to fix that but they rarely manage it. Maybe Gove can do better.

Or May. Most likely May.

I suppose I should be happy that of all the possible people who might be PM from September, none of them are socialists. I really would prefer Gove though.

I might be over egging the pudding a tad but there is real chance of very right wing Tory government with no opposition at all and no EU handbrake to stop them doing some really daft things.

How do you think it will pan out?

The public sector unions will go mad. Everyone else will be better off.

Agreed. Who would you like to see leading the country, and as Chancellor, tinfoilhat?

Not with my figure it won't.

As May's department was viewed as having the lead on immigration, and immigration figures have been the highest ever under her watch, I think it's unlikely that she will be successful, given the circumstances of this contest.

You sound like Cameron with his threats of Armageddon and world war 3 .

Pure scaremongering ,just like your bizarre claim.

I agree, the main reason for leaving the EU was the large numbers of immigrants, the very department that May was in charge of. You couldnt make it up :loopy:

In the absolute worst worst worst case scenario, we might end up, for a relatively short while, drop to perhaps the 6th or 7th richest country in the world instead of 5th. Big deal.

With the ££ dropping so low, does that reduce our ranking?

Going by GDP per capita, the United Kingdom comes out as the 25th richest country globally; I guess being the 5th richest is just Tory spin ;)

No. They're referring to ranking by total GDP rather than per capita as it's an estimate of influence and clout.
