Car help needed

Recommended Posts

I've got a Vauxhall Astra club estate and I am having trouble getting it in to gear and the clutch peddle is floppy, but when engine is switched off it's fine

Thanks in advance

It sounds like it could be the master/slave cylinder. Is there any liquid/oil around the pedal or in the footwell?

Is your brake fluid topped up?

You don't need to use the clutch to change gear when the engine is off - that's why it works then.

No it doesnt mean the clutch fluid is low it could be either slave or master cylinder more likely to be a worn clutch plate
